Clemence Miller, a college sophomore who was inspired by actual occurrences, is returning home to the suburbs and a room in her family’s basement. She left school after being diagnosed with a mental condition and now has to deal with bipolar disorder, adult duties, and her strained relationships with family and friends. Clemence is having a hard time figuring out how to heal without making everyone around her… well, insane. Clemence must struggle with the idea that, on top of everything else, she could just have a truly awful personality, as if coming to terms with everything and everyone she has taken for granted weren’t difficult enough already.
