Synopsis:

Irascible Wu family matriarch Lily, who is conscious of the fact that she has little time left, is keen to mend the damaged relationship with her adult daughter Mary and support her quiet 18-year-old granddaughter Emma in finding her voice. As part of her dying request, she convinces Emma, Charlotte, and Karen, Emma’s best friend, to free her from her L.A. nursing home and accompany her on a crazy car journey up the California coast to a significant location in her history.
